background

Gia grew up as an only child. Her father died when she was three, and her mother ten years later. She lived with her stepdad for a while but left home two years later because they didn’t get along. She then lived on the streets and in safe houses and made a living as a busker with her violin. Because of that, Gia grew into a tough and independent woman although she desires to belong to something.Eventually, now twenty, Gia met Joshua Rosza who introduced her with others to Marcel Gerald. They were looking for humans to turn into vampires and initially, Marcel wasn’t convinced any of them had enough potential so he compelled them to only remember his offer if they were strong enough and dedicated enough to accept his offer.A short time later, Gia found herself back at Marcel’s loft although she had no idea how she had gotten there. This proved to him that Gia was exactly the kind of person he was looking for to rebuild his army of vampires.Gia was turned by Marcel the next day in front of Elijah. Marcel hoped Elijah could be the mentor Gia needs when she awakes in transition. Gia completed her transition and was given a daylight ring, however, Elijah was not interested in showing her how to be a vampire and use her new powers and gave her the feeling of being tiresome which frustrated Gia, leading her to ask Marcel for a new mentor.Elijah and Gia later bonded over music when she explained she hadn’t been able to play since she turned into a vampire. Elijah assured her that she could learn to play again, and finally offered to teach her which made Marcel proud.Gia is extremely loyal to her fellow vampires, who she sees as family, and is willing to fight for her loved ones to ensure their safety. She is known for her outspoken nature and is not afraid to call out those who she believes are in the wrong, whether they are someone she respects, a relative stranger, or even one in a position of authority. She has difficulty resisting her hunger in intense situations but she has been working hard to maintain control and has shown remarkable improvement over time. Gia is also passionate about music, especially jazz music, and enjoys playing the violin and the bongo drums in the New Orleans music scene.

background

Nadia is Katerina Petrova’s (alias Katherine Pierce) daughter, who was born in Bulgaria in 1490. Because of being born out of wedlock, she was given away by her grandfather who had already decided that Katerina's child won't stay in the family as soon as the pregnancy was revealed. At first, he thought of giving the baby to a religious institution as a poor foundling that was accidentally discovered in the forest. Then, however, he remembered a couple, Dimitar Stoyanov & Maria Stoyanova, who weren't blessed to conceive living children and were desperate. Nadia's grandfather (katherine's father) knew Dimitar who was a fisher, lived in a village near the black sea, and with whom he often traded. Knowing that Dimitar and Maria were desperate for a child, he decided to offer the baby to them, long before Nadia was even born. They didn't ask too many questions and received a newborn Nadia two days after she was born. Dimitar and Maria were also the ones who gave Nadia her name.Nadia grew up poor but loved. sure, Dimitar and maria would have preferred a boy but they were glad they had at least a child. Dimitar and Maria both had blue eyes, so Nadia stood out with her brown ones. When Nadia was three, she went on a long trip to visit a graveside. Although too young to actually remember, this trip stuck with her. They never traveled as far and the ones who were dead (apparently a very gruesome death) weren't even family nor was it an actual funeral. Nonetheless, both parents insisted on going to visit the graves. She remembered that both her parents were extremely thankful to the one man in that grave and they talked about Nadia.Later, Nadia did develop quite a temper although she was trying to behave. She was about fourteen years old when an argument with her mother escalated and the truth slipped from her lips. It was a shock to find out she was adopted although she didn't dare to ask about it at first. A few months later, Maria caught a terrible fever and everyone feared for her life. Nadia was with Maria most of the time and Maria, not wanting to die with any secrets, told Nadia about the Petrovs and how they have gotten her. Maria only knew that Nadia's biological mother didn't want her and wanted her to be gone which was what she told Nadia. Fortunately, Maria recovered but the knowledge that Nadia's biological mother didn't want her and gave her away without asking about her, hurt her.At the age of seventeen, two things happened: She befriended someone from the group of 'travelers' who recognized that Nadia was one of them. Membership is earned by birthright and since the travelers needed each member to practice, they tried to 'recruit' her. Another thing that happened was that her parents were trying to marry Nadia off which was something Nadia didn't want to, despite understanding their reasons (Dimitar was getting older and as a girl, Nadia needed a proper dowry).Nadia decided to join the 'travelers' and by doing so, she also found out about how it's possible that she has some kind of magic within her which in turn only increased her curiosity about her biological family. It took years until she found the correct family because she only had a name and a faint memory of visiting graves. She also couldn't return home and ask her 'parents' because she had run away. With time, Nadia's resentment against her biological mother grew. That also didn't change when she found out that her mother was Mr. Petrov's daughter who disappeared and therefore survived the gruesome murder. Nadia only found out because someone remembered that the Petrovs were of traveler heritage and that one daughter suddenly disappeared. Not knowing where someone comes from and being faced with that big mystery prevented Nadia from finding rest.Nadia grew older and as she grew older, she knew she needed to make a decision: Let it rest and put it behind her or keep searching. Nadia knew she couldn't find peace and therefore decided to keep going.Back then it wasn't necessarily safe for a woman to travel alone. An unwed woman also didn't have a good status and Nadia was already 25. Because of her connection with the travelers she knew of vampires. Being a vampire would grant her enough time to keep searching while also giving her the opportunity to protect herself. She managed to convince the travelers to help her track down a vampire before she kinda forced the vampire to turn her by extracting blood. then, her neck was snapped and she woke up in transition. Why did the travelers help her turn into a vampire? It's quite simple. at this time, the name 'Katerina Petrova' was a whisper that went around. A rumor about an escaping doppelgänger. And the travelers had a vested interest in finding the doppelgänger for their own purposes. Before turning into a vampire, Nadia was a pretty skillful witch back then and a loyal member of her coven.Nadia’s sireline is unknown, but it can be assumed that it came from Klaus, Elijah, or Rebekah. She never found out nor did she care.Nadia sometimes goes as Nadia Pawlow instead of Petrova to hide her true identity.Important to know: Nadia has never had a child!

verses

 MAIN.
Post 5x15; Nadia died and went to the other side to wait for Katherine. Unfortunately, she never joined her so she waited until the bitter end. When the other side collapsed, she used a loophole and sneaked back into the world of the living, trying to find her mother. Nadia didn’t know about her mother’s fate and started to search for her all over again, trying to cope with the loss of her mother. Nadia would do anything to protect her mother and is loyal to her, even though she can get very angry at her.

 I'M LOOKING FOR SOMEONE.
Pre-season 5; Nadia's been trying to find her mothers for 500 years but she hasn't been successful yet. She doesn’t care about what she has to do to get her goal, even though she believes that her biological mother must be a monster, someone who abandoned her. She doesn’t know what she wants or what she’ll do when she finds her, she just wants to see what kind of person her mother is.
Despite that, Nadia is pretty ruthless and manipulative, yet she always stays true to her former coven the travelers.

1864.   Nadia believed for a few years that Katherine Pierce was dead, assuming she died in that fire in 1864. She was devastated about this. However, she wasn’t fooled for long. Children.  Nadia’s only goal was finding her mother. And since I’m going with the explanation that season 5 gave us, Amara and Silas are always going to have doppelgängers (as long as both of them are truly immortal) because nature always finds balance. Therefore, it’s not needed that Nadia had a child.

background

tl;dr: Natalia is the one-year younger sister of Katerina Petrova, now known as Katherine Pierce. Natalia was murdered by Klaus when he massacred Katherine's family. Before he did so, however, Klaus feed her his blood so she would transform into a vampire. Natalia appeared dead when Katherine found her family and when Natalia finally did wake up, Katherine was long gone. Not long after, Natalia was collected by Klaus who forced her to complete the transition and then compelled her to be his decoy. Natalia is the opposite of Katherine and values human life hence why she tries to not feed often. This is also the reason why she hadn't sought her sister out after she eventually learned that she was still alive. Up to this day, Natalia is compelled by Klaus and loyal to him. She is unaware of what truly happened in 1492.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Natalia is the one-year younger sister of Katerina Petrova. She was always quieter and more obedient than her older sister but nonetheless, they were close. When Katerina got banished, Natalia missed her dearly.
With Katerina gone, Natalia’s life changed too. Her father got more strict and didn’t give his younger daughter the freedom Katerina had, fearing she will follow in her older sister’s footsteps and bring shame over the family as well. Instead, she was required to become a proper lady of her status which involved learning more about housekeeping, manners, and dancing as well as languages. Her father believed that every man needed a strong woman, and that’s why he attached importance to a proper education. In 1492, however, Natalia’s life changed when Klaus Mikaelson found their family. He killed everyone on their estate - even the animals - before he came after her family. Her father desperately tried to stop the beast but failed by doing so. The family entrenched themselves in the master’s bedroom but that couldn’t stop Klaus. Natalia can’t remember much about the moment Klaus broke through the door. The only things which she remembers are his intense blue eyes in which the devil danced. Whispered words followed by a sticky fluid on her lips and incredible pain before everything went black and she was massacred alongside her family.Unknownst to Natalia, she was in transition when she woke up. The circumstances she found herself in were horrible. Her parents were dead, and the house was destroyed. Too traumatized by what has happened, Natalia was unable to move or even react to the nightmare which had happened. She was devastated and hoped to die as well.Eventually, she was able to smell the slight perfume of someone she knew: Her sister, Katerina. She knew it shouldn’t be possible that Katerina had returned or that she is even able to smell something like that. But it gave her hope and strength. She wanted to find comfort in her sister’s arms. She barely managed to stumble outside, hoping to find her while trying her best to ignore the dead bodies around her.But Katerina was already long gone. The light of the rising sun started to hurt her which confused her even more and forced her into the shadows which gave her some relief. Natalia didn’t understand what was happening to her. Despite all the pain she was feeling, she knew something was wrong with her. She craved something without knowing what it was that she wanted. It wasn’t until the smell of fresh blood hit her. It was alluring, really, but after Natalia noticed what it was which allured her, she was disgusted by herself and ran in the opposite direction.Eventually, Natalia ran into Klaus again. At first, she didn’t recognize him and was relieved to find a living soul. His voice had a calming effect on her and everything he said made sense. Natalia had woken up hours ago and she grew weaker because she hadn’t completed the transition yet. Only when she caught a closer look at his eyes, she remembered him but her fright and aversion were quickly compelled away. It was Klaus who persuaded her into drinking human blood by telling her it was the only way of helping her sister who was apparently in trouble.Natalia completed her transition and became a vampire. She was compelled to be Klaus’s decoy to catch Katerina whom he hoped would return to her sister once she found out she was alive. However, Katerina never showed up.As time passed, Klaus found a new way to use Natalia in order to get to Katerina by using her blood for spells. It didn’t work out because Katerina had witches on her own who protected her. Klaus eventually lost interest and left Natalia behind without lifting the compulsion. Up to now she still doesn’t hold a grudge against Klaus and sees him as a friend who had helped her in the beginning although she’s not sure if he had been real. Klaus made sure Natalia won’t be a risk if Mikael is stumbling over her.Natalia has never met her older sister and in fact, wasn’t aware she had turned into a vampire. It took her centuries to find out that her older sister is still alive and goes by a different name: Katherine Pierce. She has heard stories of Katherine Pierce and had decided to keep a distance from the cruel person her sister had turned into.Despite being a vampire for half a Millenium, Natalia is still not comfortable with drinking blood. She tries to avoid it as long as possible and therefore is often weakened. She’s an overall friendly and kind person who often befriends witches which help her with her thirst. She often goes by Nathalie Porter.

Art.   Sarah Salvatore didn’t only paint the walls of her dorm room black, but her walls are also covered with photographs and posters. Let’s say her taste is a little bit … special. She has photographs made by herself such as of woods and the moon, but also posters like the hanging of Mary Surratt.
